What a great way to start off the Memorial Day Weekend.
Air temperature was ~70 and water temperature was refreshing 58F. On this partly sunny day, Gail Rehman took lead
of the other 8 kayaks and 1 canoe, and although it was basically a flat water trip, there were spots where the current
was semi-challenging. As the risk for a dunk existed, the digital cam was left home, and we'll have to get the film
developed before adding pics here.
An early rock lesson started the day, followed by some paddling and a rescue as one of our boaters got
dumped in the current exiting a small inlet. Standing waves were played in, and overall, it was a fine outing.
Thanks to Starrk Moon for lending us a life vest.
We finished up with a brief stop at an Amish stand for some yummy strawberries, and a few of us met at
the Brown Cow for some other good eats before trekking home. Some new faces, some of the regular gang, but another successful
trip with a great group of people.
Thanks to all that came out, shared information, stories and enjoyed the day with us.
Hopefully we'll have some pics up here before too long... there was some technical difficulty and it appears I still have
to scan or upload images...
