Hurricane Isabel (Isahell)

September 2003

Well, it could've been a lot worse, but fortunately Isabel, a Cat5 hurricane, slowed down to a Cat2 by the time it hit most of us on the Eastern US Coast. Some family were without power almost a day, ourselves were without power for 13hrs and a neighbor's tree crashed into our yard missing our house by 8 feet. A neighbor down the street wasn't so lucky and lost their upper deck and got a small bite in the room... still, being inland, we didn't feel the brunt of the tidal surges like our friends ocean side and wish all the best of luck in recovering their lives, homes and belongings.

Though not as crazy as the surfers who went out during, here are some interesting shots of kayakers who got out after the storm in parts of Maryland that we are familiar with, perhaps you recognize the areas as well.

Enjoy and hopefully you find better waters to boat in. :)
