We took
a quick weekend to see some of what
Colorado has to offer, and got the full spectrum of weather, which worked out fairly well.
3/12 -Colorado Springs/Pikes Peak

We did a lil shopping in Boulder, hit a nice pizza pub and had some good microbrew as well. Wished we had more time to play in this little town.
3/14 -The Air Force Academy
Weather: 22F and snowing
Another snowy day, and we got to the gate and the guard told us the Visitor's Center was closed! Fortunately, I thought ahead and brought my DOD Identification with me. We got on base, decided to try the Golf Shop for some memorabilia and bought a few things there. In talking with the Pro Shop attendant, he said, "They're always open.. here's what ya do... go here, here and here, follow this road and there's the visitor's center." Low and behold, THEY WERE OPEN! So, we got to tour the Visitor's Center, buy some more things and then visit the gorgeous chapel. I wouldn't have been able to measure my disappointment had I found out that the center was open while we were there... I would've been madder than a prostitute with lockjaw on Valentine's Day, at that gate guard. Anyhow, onto the pics:

A great trip, and as you can see from the pictures, another reason to protect our National Treasures and Parks.
