OH
HELL!
As weather seemed iffy, lucky for us, Barb had room at a beach house in Delaware (Thanks Barb!!) so that was much better than last year's pitching a tent in the rain and high winds! We eagerly agreed and met up with her and Bob to follow some interesting directions to the house. We made it there Friday evening, and after unloading and hitting the local grocery store, we had some drinks and learned a card game from Bob called "OH HELL". Fun was had by all, but who really did win?
Saturday, the weather was overcast, light rain at times with some pretty tough winds. After not finding our group in Assat03eague, we wandered onto the beach to see some nice surf, then caught a fleeting pic of a deer by the road and we were off to work out somewhere else... the outlets! Traffic was hell, and we returned to a local bar to hopefully fill our stomachs and have a few drinks. PSU was losing on the big screen, Boston and NY brawling, and to add to the misery, Rachel ended up wearing a tray of drinks thanks to the waitress. At least the beer was ok, and the food did the trick. I think we tipped 15%, though the waitress tipped about 25% of the tray and was didn't deserve that. Crabs awaited our return, and played some more "Oh HELL" which we played for the remainder of the night.
On Sunday, naturally, the weather was clearing, and we decided after grabbing Barb's buns (Cinnamon ones that is), to brave the bay. It was a good workout, nice paddling, obviously got some more pics, and Brian even got some surfing in on waves provided by some larger boats passing. After a better but still not quite direct shot home, the pics remain to tell the rest of my story...
Thanks again to our hosts, and to our friends that made this weekend possible.
